Thank you very much for your continued efforts. The generator has been invaluable in making half decent NPC's to populate my gaming sessions for my PC's to interact with.
Please continue with this endeavour.

+1001 to this! I used Knight with random Ranks today for opponents in a joust.
This is an endeavour I heartily support.

It's comments like these that keep me motivated to develop it - sadly I am cursed with more ambition that time :(. But don't let that keep you from making any suggestions for improving the applications, downloads or other content, though - I'll always put stuff I know people want to the top of my list of things to do to the site!

Thanks for taking the time to comment - it's much appreciated.

Yup. CWF generator gets a lot of use in my PbP games for NPCs.

Well, the only improvement I see to the character generator would be checking whether the ranks are properly weighed. We got a lot of high-ranked Knights, even on rerolls.
My players are thankful for the ransoms of two high-ranked Knights in the joust, of course, since the dice were with them.

After an hiatus of a few months, I'm getting back to updating my site, starting with a refresh of the Reference Sheets and Character Sheets (mostly just layout, consistency, readability, typos, etc.). I've also uploaded the missing Reference Sheet for the Friar profession (from Ordo Draconis 1), should anyone have been missing that.

Check them out here, and expect further updates to the site content and the applications in the coming weeks:

I've published a set of quick reference tables (which could be used as a GM screen) on my site today, should anyone be looking for something of this nature. I've updated it with a little content from The Players' Guide for games that use Looks and/or demonologists and would always welcome suggestions for improvements.

I've tried to make it a companion to the other Quick Reference Sheets rather than a replacement for them, so have tried not to repeat content too much - my intention is to enable GMs to have everything they need at their fingertips with minimal paper cluttering the gaming table and minimal flicking through the rulebook.

And if anyone spots a typo, let me know - after a while, all those numbers just tend to swim together...

Oops. Something I forgot to add...

I like Hellions. So much so that I was going to include the Hellion tables in the Table Reference Sheets I've just uploaded. However, as I appreciate these probably aren't for everyone's campaign, I've uploaded a separate sheet dedicated to these infernal denizens of the Netherworld for folks that are interested:

I wouldn't want anyone to miss out on any devilish fun !

Hmmm... Over a year since my last update on here? I haven't been idle (although I have been working abroad, which seriously crimps gaming, writing, and web design time!), so the eagle-eyed might have noticed the Forest continues to grow slowly. In addition to some cosmetic and behind-the-scenes changes (that no-one but me will ever appreciate...), I have been tinkering with some new applications, one of which, a Rank Equivalence Calculator (http://cobwebbedforest.co.uk/workshop/RankEquiv.php), is even ready to publish! Huzzah!

This app calculates the rank of knight required to win at least 50% of combats with an enemy with the combat characteristics you enter in the glamorous form. It's currently very basic, but I am going to grow the functionality and options as time allows, so check it out and feed back any suggestions for improvement.

Being away from my books, I've not had a chance to run some canon creatures through it, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of them are wildly out - when DW was written, Dave and Oliver didn't have the benefit of staggering computing power at their fingertips (just squishy grey stuff pulsating between their ears, a poor substitute at best ;)).

Hopefully, like other applications in the Cobwebbed Forest, this application will help us all to run better games 8-).

And if generating hellions manually is not your bag, there's now a basic online generator for everyone's favourite demons on the Cobwebbed Forest:

As with all of the applications, they will improve over time (but more quickly if I know people use them and make suggestions for improvements :)).

And now it does barbarians, too. I'm on a roll!

Enjoy!

And now it's even more improvederer! The combat simulator that underpins this calculator will now bring the hurt on our hero from multiple enemies. That small gang of peasant thugs is surprisingly threatening to a lone knight (or barbarian)

Next on the list of improvements is to allow you to define initiative order. Some enemies are fast...

Have fun!

Well, that was both easier than I thought to implement and it made less difference than I thought it would to the Rank Equivalence of creatures. Still, it does increase the accuracy of the estimate, so I'll leave it in.

Feedback welcome :).
