Google doc is here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1iwI ... sp=sharing

Editing is open to all, but please try to not make too many changes without checking first. Comments are enabled.

I need to incorporate the new stuff and do a lot more work in certain areas but you can get a rough idea...

I've been looking at it and got frustrated with the Google Docs interface, so have been tweaking a Word version. Mostly just editing and organising the content, which I will share (somehow) when done.

No material changes to the content, as I do not have the relevant knowledge of equivalent cultures/environments. I hope to be able to share what I've done soon...

Done. And whilst I've not made any material changes to the content, I have spent a few hours on the following:

  1. Added page numbers and a table of contents
  2. Grouped entries (cities, regions, places of interest, etc.).
  3. Started correcting a few typos, apostrophes, capitalisation, and other such minor grammatical stuff.
  4. Applied consistent formatting across the doc (font sizes, headings, spacings, etc.).
  5. Started added cross-references, but didn't get very far.
  6. Tried to reorganise the content so it flows a bit better and is less 'jumpy'.
  7. Corrected some minor inconsistencies (for example, 100 temples or 1000? I've changed all references to 1000, but feel free to change this back if it should have been 100!)

I haven't a clue how to make this available on your Google Drive, so have made what I've done available here for you to take and upload yourself:

Hopefully, it's now easier to spot where there are gaps to fill and inconsistencies to correct. There's also still plenty that can be done with the formatting, but it's not really worth doing much more until there's more content.

And i have to say, whilst I don't know much about the real-world equivalent area, there's a lot of evocative detail in your document and I look forward to reading more.

:-D

I've reformatted the gdoc.

Generally gdocs useful for multiple contributors and basic layout, and the final layout stuff is done when its converted to pdf.

Its great if theres guys from Australia, UK and US all contributing. I find it easier than word but I expect thats just familiarity.

Anybody have any old Khitain, Yamatese, Minji or other material they want to add? Or folks who live/have knowledge of want to comment?

I turned Dave and Jamie's sketches of Yamato into colour maps, which you're welcome to include:

I don't know enough about the region or the time period to be able to contribute any words to accompany these maps, though.

Appreciated.

Still not sure if it should even try and cover other lands. Khitai alone should have at least as coverage as the geographical wordcount in the core book.

I am quite familiar with Khitan history and might be able to make some comments. I might add they had a lot of sappers, built a lot of walls as well as automatons and trapped tombs.

I know someone made an effort on the wiki to make an alternate 1st dynasty, but I think it sounds great as it is. Need to create 'official dragon warriors' terms for all the various dynasties and all.

I mean, does anyone presume to create a dragwars version of archimedes or caesar or aristotle?
