Ak'kulula looks up at Chiemeka. "Revered Sir. The red-twined bag is enchanted. I am unfamiliar with magical compounds and mixtures. Know you anything about it?"

Chimeka takes the bag from Ak and turns it over in his hands, looking for any markings that might indicate its use.

OOC: Has Chiemeka seen anything like this before in his wanderings? Or does any inspiration strike?

Chiemeka is unable to determine much about the bag, usually a medicine pouch would be full of items lending power to it, or a bag containing spirits would be decorated richly to keep the occupants happy. But this bag is very plain...though he doesn't recognise the skin it is made from...some sort of ape or monkey perhaps...

Chiemeka looks the other bag over and, curiosity getting the better of him, tips the contents into his palm...they are a handful of green crystals, mostly dull, but sparkling where there is a little polishing on the edges. Uncut emeralds?

Watching intently as Chiemeka examines the bags, Ak'kulula mentally counts the number of green crystals, then turns to the floor and checks the number of glowing red crystals.

Are the numbers the same?

He takes over the red-twined bag from the older man, carefully handling it to feel for its contents.

What can he feel inside the bag? Sand? Or some hard objects?

There are about 20 fingernail sized emeralds, far less than the red crystals.

Both bags are now empty to the feel.

"Your Highness, we have found some gemstones, but I have no experience in such things. Are they valuable?"

Kuublu might have a clue. He'll look over them.

"Valuable to some that may have an interest. Otherwise they are no more than stones and pebbles. Keep them for now, we may find out their significance."

Kuublu looks at his hands again.

Ak'kulula wags his head, a grimace on his young face. Looking from the bags, to the floor, to the stone coffer, he shrugs and turns back to his companions.

EDITED:

He hands the two bags over to Chiemeka for safekeeping. Picking up the pace again, he makes his way to the narrow entrance and disappears back out to the main passageway. His youthful voice floats back to the companions... "Let's keep moving Sirs. This is just the entrance."

The other companions joined Ak'kulula back in the main corridor and continued on their way, Etwa holding the torches up high.

After a few minutes they began approaching the end of the corridor. Double doors lay ahead—of rich black wood bound with verdigris stained copper. There is a smaller stone door in the right wall, and another passage leading off to the left.

Before you reach the doors, an iron portcullis drops down to block your way. A harsh clang makes you turn—another portcullis has fallen across the foot of the stairway. A warm breeze rushes down the corridor. Even as you watch, the four carvings of the warriors become three dimensional and step into the corridor behind you. They carry stone shields and knobkerrie, still in the faded hue of the stonework, and their skin is the same.

Ak'kulula gives a short cry and throws himself at the nearest Warrior, attacking with fierce vigor!

#1 Attack nearest Warrior: 1d20 7 1d8 3
#2 Attack nearest Warrior: 1d20 7 1d8 6
#3 Attack nearest Warrior: 1d20 7 1d8 4

Now this is something Kuublu can handle. He advances on them. Tries to keep with the party so he doesn't get flanked so he won't advance alone.
