Mthunzi takes onboard Kuublu's advice and stays well behind him. His sling is loaded and ready for action...

The others follow Kuublu upwards.

The path becomes a crude stairway carved into the stone.

The hillside here is clear of large trees, but covered in dark, foetid ferns which grow as tall as a man. Looking back, through the rain, you can see Iintombi Intlambo far below. At the upper edge of the clearing the path meets another, running north and south, that disappears back into dense jungle.....

Kuublu stops to scan the area. Looking for any trail or disturbance. He will wait for the others.

"No point in blindly chasing them. We would be open to ambush and split."

"Wonder what rolled down the hill?"

Kuublu will glance down to see whether he can make out what was crashing through the woods. He's inclined to take the North path into the jungle.

Glancing back down for a moment Kuublu can make out the figure of a running man silhouetted at the top of the scree slope and then the man jumps over the edge and out of sight...
