As the five talked there was a tremendous crack of thunder and lightning flashed over head as clouds rolled in a warm rain began to pelt down on the valley.

I make sure my bow string is protected from the rain.

"Some weather, huh?" I say to the group. "Couldn't you wait five minutes, Tsui'goab?" I ask, looking skyward.

Chiemeka looks uneasy as the rain comes down. He's not exactly dressed for the weather...

"Perhaps my friend and I could head inside and look for our host? Then, if you later find trouble, you will have allies on the inside."

Mthunzi starts walking into the village.

Kuublu leads his mule in.

Chiemeka follows the prince, attempting to engage Mthunzi and Ammu in polite conversation.

The six figures ( including the donkey) made their way through the town gates under the torrential downpour. Mthunzi pointed out the storehouse and they headed across to it, slipping through the open door and into the room beyond.

As before the interior of the common room is brightly lit by the fire burning at its centre. Stools surround a single low table and jars, barrels and boxes
line the far wall. There is another door within leading to other rooms.

Suddenly a stout man with a grey beard and colourful wrap enters through the interior door. He looks cautious, yet hopeful.



“Hello to you, strangers. Welcome to my town. Er…if you do not mind my asking, what are you doing coming to Iintombi Intlambo at this late hour?”
