The villagers point across the open area to a small hut near a rope bridge over a stream. The storm water has swollen the stream some but it is not in danger of breaking its banks.

Kuublu left his donkey tied to the storehouse and led the way across the open ground.

As the companions approached the hut they were suddenly challenged from the doorway by a formidable looking older woman.

" I see you there! Get away from here, or I will cut your little men off and feed them to my guinea fowl!", clutched tight in her hand is a wickedly sharp iron cleaver.

"Peace! I have recently arrived and still trying to understand what has happened. I am Kuublu Oublu. Kgosigadi Ngela is my second cousin and I was here to celebrate the birth of the child."

The woman regarded him dubiously but poked her head back in side, " Mrs, he says he's your cousin. But theres five of them, could be some of that other fellows men. What you think?"

Another voice from inside called out, weary and tight from sobbing, " Kuublu Oublu? I have relatives of the House of Oublu but that is known.....I do not know...perhaps he is a friend....but there are so many foes about us."

Kuublu gestures the others to stay back. He passes all arms to 'the nearest' and walks forward slowly with the gift. He will extend it whilst standing 5m away.

"Praise the ever fertile lands of this new birth. I am glad that I came, my only regret is that I did not arrive sooner."

The older woman looks somewhat mollified by Kuublu divesting himself of his weapons and cocked an eyebrow at the gift.

" He's not armed, Mrs.....and he has something...for you?"

The younger woman sighed and a baby made a short cry, " Very well. Let him in."

The older woman retreated inside and held the door open for Kuublu to enter...

Mthunzi keeps an eye out for trouble, particularly anything from the direction of the long house.

Kuublu holds the gifts and wishes to give it in person. However he will maintain distance.

He'll introduce himself to his second cousin, gift it, and if she don't mind, ask the horde to come in, preferably after placing their weapons outside.

Kuublu is allowed inside and he is greeted by both the old woman and a young woman, richly dressed, holding an infant.



" Welcome. So you are my cousin? I am most pleased to meet you. Please ask your friends to join us.", she said seriously.
