IC: Ammu shouts: "The tree, it is bewitched! It must be destroyed!". If I can reach the carvings I will begin slashing away at them with my knife.

"I suppose you think that was funny!" I shout up to the chimp.

Kuublu, with eyes wide looks stunned by the turn of events. He then regains his composure. "What do you know of the Mother of Moons? We are trying to rescue Kgosi Olmar. Can you help?"

"Funny? Sticking me to the ground is funny?" Pulgil considers for a moment. "I suppose I can see that point of view. But is being funny your only purpose? And... forgive me for asking but can your people normally talk so well as you?"

" Ammu" begins complaining loudly as Ammu attacks the carvings, " Here now! That is quality workmanship that is! You can't go around vandalising peoples property!"

Pulgil and Kuublu could suddenly move their feet, and the carvings lapsed back into silent wood. There was sudden movement above them as a large shape climbed out of a hole deep in the trees trunk and squatted on the branch above them. Ammu recognised the same old chimp he had seen outside the town.
