So basically my plan is to jump off the tree, try to quietly get everybody running, and then probably make loud noises and run in a different direction to draw the thing. (Im not sure if it’s tracking my centipede blood covered self or the party as a whole) but either way me splitting from the group and being loud should draw it to me. No clue what the plan is after that, but, one thing at a time

I didn’t want to say in character that I did all that of course, because if I die jumping from the tree, or if nobody listens to my whispered warnings, then we’ll have to think of something else.

All I can think of is get away.

Illusion does affect smell, so if I knew what the thing's favourite meal I might be able to send it away... Maybe a group of bleeding, injured animals or humans moving a bit more slowly in a different direction? It might just buy us a bit of time.

The other option is Tangleroots, but something that big moving at speed will probably just break straight through.

Other than that, I'm with Kharille - run away!

Illusion with a strong scent sounds like a good idea. If you send the illusion in a third, different direction then Hopefully it will follow that one. If that still doesn’t work We’ll have to figure something out.
Does that Turncoat spell that was used on the centipedes require another target to redirect the enemy at, or does it just make them on our team?
I wonder how many shadow bolts this thing would take before it ran away.
If we stumble on to a body of water we can try and hide our scent in it, but that’d be super lucky.

Worst case scenario I can circle back around and ambush it as it chases yall. I’m assuming a good stab with a spear will make it change targets no matter how hungry it is.

The fight with the centipedes took it out of Chiemeka, so if I cast Illusion then I won't have enough MP left for a Shadowbolt... We need to choose carefully!

Well, one shadow bolt probably won’t be enough, so if we’ve only got one casting then illusion with a strong scent of fresh blood would be the best call? Could you make an illusion that smells like our group but stronger? If it’s already tracking our scent but picks up a split of the same scent it might follow the more powerful of the two?

Then if it doesn’t take the bait Jaafan will circle around ahead of it and try to stab it as it gives chase?

We need something to cover our own scents as well. Animal dung, water, something like that, but we’ll have to hope we find something like that on our run.

Well, maybe a wounded warrior with a limp. It might be smart enough to go after easy prey. Wonder how we'd lose this thing though in the forest, probably could track us.

Rather than send an army through the forests and leave the villages unguarded, best to have a strike force. Perhaps we can pinpoint a better way to reach the prison camp, and maybe project where they were headed, must be some kind of 'slave trade' centre somewhere. Can we do some kind of map?

Now that hiabour is banned in the office I can only check it on my phone or sometime after 8pm hk time. Maybe I should switch to a backseat role? Take some armoured meatshield?
