Ak'kulula shrugs. He returns the gems to Chiemeka. "Let's explore the other locations first." He looks to Kubluu, waiting to follow his lead.

Kuublu is happy to lead the party down the passageway, unless someone wants to try the other door.

The passage brings you to a small circular chamber with no other exits. The wall is covered with carvings that
depict strange geometric patterns. A large ebony staff hangs in the air in the middle of the chamber, it is capped with a silvery metal at both ends.

It is rotating about its centre, at a rate of roughly one revolution a second. One end of the staff glows a dull red, the other
glows with blue-white light. The central section is solid black wood.

Assuming no one minds, Kuublu will try to knock it out the air with one of his javelins….

"Roho Mkuu!" Ak'kulula whispers in awe at the spinning ebony staff. He has certainly not seen enchantments of this kind that is not of nature but otherworldly. It looks alien...and perhaps alittle dangerous. He watches intently as the Prince tries to knock the rod out of its motion onto the floor.

Kuublu cast his spear at the spinning staff and knocked it out of its place in the centre of the room, the staff clattered to the floor near the wall along with the spear.

Kuublu retrieves his spear. Then reaches out for the staff....

Noting that it tends to rotate, he'll grab it firmly by the middle. Will examine it and then hand it to Chimieka.

Kuublu notes as he picks it up that there is warmth coming from the reddish metal tip, as he hands it to Chiemeka the sorcerer notes that the bluish end is surrounded by a cool, moist sensation....both men are careful to only touch the middle wooden section.

Ak'kulula takes only a very brief time to marvel at the strange and obviously magical staff. He does a good thorough search of the chamber for any secret doors, catches, openings, panels, engravings, etc...

Chiemeka handles the staff carefully.

"On my travels I have heard of Magic Men who can use powerful items such as this. Clearly it has some relationship with heat and cold, but to what purpose I cannot tell."
