On hearing the being's words, Chiemeka checks his backpack for the two bags - he has one empty and one full of green gems. He remembers Ak saying the the empty bag was magical - could that be the one in which to catch Owa's breath?

Etwa comes forward, " What is it? What is happening?"

"Ah, yes, I could not tell. Etwa! Please come and join us!"

Chiemeka turns to the priest.

"Prince Kuublu and Ak are in conversation with a powerful creature. It has given us information on how to proceed through the tomb, and now it seems it wishes to speak to you. Can you manage the climb down, or perhaps Pulgil and I could lower you?"

" Creature? Uh......very well...I think I can make it down."

Etwa carefully seized hold of the rope and began the slow climb down with his stiff, old limbs.

After several long minutes Etwa descended through the mist and appeared to Kuublu and Ak'ulula.

As soon as Etwa had placed his feet on the sand he turned and his eyes widened, there was a sudden blissful reverent expression on his face and a smile came to his lips.

" Great River Nyami....", he said softly before he keeled over backwards onto the sand.

Kuublu tries to catch him, probably failed. Will try to hold him up.

Ak'kulula kneels swiftly beside the prone Etwa. Retrieving his waterskin and unstoppering it, he attempts to revive the old man with some fresh water. He looks up at the great beast. "You are well remembered O Great Lord. And fondly it seems by your priest. And most likely through him, your people in the villages too."

Ak'kulula is eager to continue the exploration of the tomb. Once Etwa is revived, Ak'kulula will ask the great beast about what lies beyond the door at the end of the Hallway of Winds. If it is unwilling to divulge further information, he will politely say his farewells and climb back up the cliff to continue the exploration. And all these, taking his cue from the Prince 1st.

Pulgil descends the rope as well... this creature sounds interesting.

Kuublu catches Etwa and stands him up as Ak'ulula brings him around with splashes of water.

Ak'ululas follow up questions bring a bemused chuckle from the god-thing, " It would not be much of a test if one had all the answers would it?"

Pulgil descended from the rope and stared up at the god-thing.

Etwa stared at Nyami wordlessly he is face to face with his deity and utterly enraptured.

"Etwa, it seems that you have forgotten to demonstrate your dedication to Nyami. When you return to your people you must remind them of their need to dedicate their hearts and minds, and to make an annual festival. Each year you will release a black calf into the lake."

Seeing the old priest revived, the Mystic offers him the rest of his water, then stands up.

The great beast speaks truly. Ak'lulula knew his attempt to find out more from it was a long shot. He notes the arrival of Pulgil, then turns back to the great beast. Riddling is a well-known practice of creatures of fey and magic. He would participate in it too then, as a sign of respect for the great beast.

"Lord. I have a riddle of my own...

What goes up and sometimes comes down.
Longish, squarish, and at times it's round.
Of wood, of stone, or even soft straw.
Above and below it space abounds."

Chiemeka is remaining at the top of the cliff to guard the end of the rope. And because he doesn't fancy the climb down!

Etwa seemed aghast at Kuublus words and threw himself to the ground, grinding his face into the rough sand, " Forgive me, Great one. Forgive this old fool! I simply follow the ways I was taught by my teacher. I tell the stories and sing the words and bless the waters. I will do better! I will do as this foreign Prince has said is your will. Please do not punish my people for my neglect....rather take me as a sacrifice to repay those not made these long years."

There was a sudden low frequency rumble that set all the waters dancing and Nyami rose even further out of the lake, ancient scales encrusted with millenia of algae and other plants touche dthe air for the first time in millenia.

" Do not fear, Little Etwa. I know you, and I have heard your whispers in my mind as I hear all those who call upon my name.....including those who use it in their curses....."

" The black calf will be appreciated and I will rouse myself a little and send fish and waters for your crops....but I am bound.....uh, I must remain here and watch over my old friend until the day she wakes. But fear not, I will never abandon my children."

Nyami turned from Etwa to regard Ak'lulula in much the same way one might a truculent toddler.

" A roof......would fit.....but I know not if it is what sits in your mind."

" But I am pleased to see my priest today so I will answer another of your questions if I am wrong."
