The three men carefully waded through the foul water, thick black leeches clinging to their bare legs as they advanced. After some minutes they reached the island and began to make their way through the tangled trees that choked it. As they climbed into the upper part of the trees and stones they found pieces of bone and whole bones tied to the branches with lengths of sinew. In the boughs of the tallest trees were strange bundles of bones tied up with sinew and long strips of thin leather. |

Chiemekas words had barely spilled from his lips when there was a sudden shift in the island and a sound like a dying mans gasp sprung up from the boles and stones around them. A wretched form of shadow and bone and old wood coalesced out of the dark and leered at them with hollow eyes, " Who is it that creeps about my masters rest? Blood and red flesh...." " Fall away into death little children...." |

Kuublu raises his open hands. "Death comes to all! Our time is not yet due. We will depart!" Kuublu backs out and beckons the others to leave before him. |
