Chimeka takes the note to see if he can make any sense of it.

Chiemeka puzzled over the writing, then noted it was in the script of the Wagandan Empire....he was not too familiar with it but after a few minutes he managed to puzzle it out.

Rafiki —The old lion ’s days are numbered! Kijivu and Kivuli are with us. I shall be visiting Kiongozi. Ensure the
fort is guarded by our own men on the day of the giraffe hunt. Your brother, Buzwe.

Chimeka reads the letter aloud to the others, then turns to Kuublu.

"This speaks of treachery. I now understand why Buzwe was so keen to retrieve this knobkerrie. I am no politician, Your Highness - what should we do?"

"I think... if we are seen, we must give the appearance of bodies with departed souls, shuffle and moan and tell them to stay away. Either that or we terrify the villagers and let them tell the authorities of our demise."

"That way at worse they send more people to search. I think we can drop this knobkerrie near the island, that might suggest to anyone following us that we went that way."

Kuublu furrows his brow as he considers his options.

Uruka humbly suggests that while they should throw potential pursurers off the scent, they should investigate and get rid of evil here.

Kuublu smiles.

"It seems there is much to deal with. It would be good to put the dead to rest. Unfortunately men have much more to fear from the living. With the betrayals we can expect more wars and death. With internal turmoil, other countries will fall upon these lands like Hyenas and Vultures."

"But this unfortunate soul was one more who wandered into this area. Though the living would not follow, he will not rest eternally unless... We destroy his master."

Uruka agrees and swears to destroy the evil

Kuublu cuts down the tax collector and considers whether to move the body to where the guardian of this place rests. If too badly decayed and with lots of maggots he'll just leave it there and try to cover it.

The body is ripe but untouched by insects....Kuublu is able to easily cut it down and wrap it in its own clothing.

Glancing back along the trail towards the island he considers the distance....looking ahead the path disappears again into mist while sound of the river can be heard off the path to the north.

Sounds like too much work to carry it, especially since we can still be exploring. Lets check the path to the water. Maybe we can find some wood and float to another location out of here?....

Leaving the body where it lay and venturing a little further along the path, Kuublu found that it curved towards the river and he followed the sound towards the water and breaks out of the mist seeing the river before him.

Seven large flat stepping stones lead across the river.

Beyond, high up on the far bank, stands a tall column of stone.
