The hulking creatures slavering head swung in Jaafans direction for a moment and its steps hesitated but then it continued trailing the group...though its pace quickened its clawed feet ploughing under the leaf litter as it began to gain on them.

Chiemeka calls upon the Trickster Goddess, Suty, to create the Illusion of a large group of people, smelling particularly ripe, splitting off from our group and moving in the opposite direction to us (and away from any stragglers as well).

Fingers crossed... Although I do just have enough MP for one Shadowbolt if necessary.

The scaled bulk came to a sudden halt swinging its head back and forth between the two scents, finally it gave a great snort and ambled off through the brush following the illusionary trail.....for the moment...

Jaafan, noticing the creature wasn’t following him, angled himself in a way that he hoped would reconnect him with the main group. He kept an eye out for piles of animal dung or bodies of water as he ran.

The group made their way at speed towards the relatively familiar sight of the long grasses of the plains and after another hour or so emerged into the waning afternoon sunlight leaving the Forest of Storms behind them.

They moved forward away from the trees further into the grassland.....

Jaafan breathed a sigh of relief, hopeful that the nightmarish creature would not follow them out of the forrest. Next they had to find some place to make camp.

As the afternoon rapidly was replaced by evening the group kept heading north in the hope that they would eventually hit the trade road.

Lions coughed in the twilight indicating that not all danger was left behind beneath the trees, eventually they found a flattened area of grasses where a past group had apparently camped with the remains of a fire at its centre.

The moon rose over the grass.
