Jaafan grimaced for a moment, and then shrugged. ”Very well, if we require more warriors then let us gather them. So long as our end goal is to slaughter the Volucreth who think to take slaves of mankind.”

The barbarian stretched his shoulder and back now that the decision had been made. He would have preferred to assault the fortress of the slaver birds now, but he could understand the hesitation. Besides, there would certainly be glorious challenges to face as they prepared forces, and unifying local tribes would likely prove his value as a leader.

He grinned, ”Anyway, food, rest, and relaxation aught to be our goal for the day.” he said, waggling his eyebrows at the warrior woman, ”tomorrow we can set out for whatever the prince thinks we should see to first, the capital or the outlying tribes.”

"Then all matters are concluded? Raise your hands if you have other matters to discuss!"

Kuublu will do what he can, whether it is reassuring villagers or addressing other wild plans. But he intends to head to the capital and report what has happened, and what he has done to settle this region. Maybe circumstances do not justify a feast, but at least, a well earned rest.

He does raise the bravery of Buzwe, and recollects some of his great noble acts and bravery, regardless of what basis there has been for such stories.

"Maybe your capital will have some magic weapons for us to use and smite the birdmen,"'Uruka says hopefully.

"Perhaps. I should think more archers would be beneficial."

Kuublu takes on a sad expression, he has seen few archers and sappers. Perhaps there are hunters, but would they help to catch these big birds?


With no other questions, Kuublu declares the meeting at an end. Kuublu checks with Bathwanda about guard duty, securing the supplies from fire and external attack before finding a suitable space to rest. They'll head to the Capital on the morrow.

With the meeting adjourned Jaafan spends the rest of the evening pursuing Bathandwa, either through witty flattery or tales of courage from the Forest of Storms. (At least for as long as she does not tell him to go away).

In the morning he will check around the village on the escapees to ensure that they either know where they are going from here or that they are ready to accompany the main group if they want to continue on.

Seeing Kuublu's expression, Chiemeka approaches him.

"The situation may not be ideal, your Highness, but I believe the gods have brought us here for a reason. We have already saved innocent lives. With their blessing and your leadership, I believe we can save many more."

Kuublu instantly smiles as he hears from Chiemeka.

"Do you have any suggestions? I would not wish to attempt a rescue, we couldn't do anything last time, and a bigger force would be more vulnerable to the forest beasts. Perhaps a plan can be made when we reach the capital?"

"There are many of us. When you are father to a nation, you just won't have time for over sixty princes, you are dedicated to the wellbeing of every person in your nation!"
