As Kuublu comes forward there is a somewhat similar ululating howl-whine from above them and a slightly larger creature of the same type glowered down at them from the top of the outcrop... The one facing Jaafan began to swing its heavy head back and forth between the two men, its huge sharp, blocky teeth visible behind black gums.... |

Kuublu grins. "We are safe! These things only eat brains!" He breaks into laughter as he attacks the one on top of the outcrop. |

Uruka was slow in seeing danger. However, he makes up for it, casting enchantment before wading into battle screaming like a lunatic. |

Kuublu cast a javelin at the male on the outcrop, the sudden movement startled the female who lunged forward to crush Jaafans head between her massive jaws. He leapt back, striking out instinctively with his spear drawing a thin line of blood from her forehead. She seemed little bothered... Kuublus javelin sank into the creatures shoulder and it fixed its eyes on him as it leapt at him, but the javelin strike must have unbalanced it as it landed short of him growling fiercely. Uruka began enacting some sort of ritual chant on himself which twisted and swelled his limbs... OOC: 13:08, Today: Damian May, for the NPC Kuublu, rolled 11 using 1d20. Jaafan's predatory smile widens as combat engages. Finally some straight forward fighting. He lunges with his weapon, striking out at the female Kerit, growling as he does so. |

There is a flurry of activity as Uruka dives into the fray at Kuublus side, they both land telling blows on the beast but it seems little bothered and lunges at Kuublu its massive jaws crashing together an inch from his face. Chiemekas chanting seems to have little effect. Jaafans spear drives again at the female and the head drives into her shoulder, he grins in triumph but her massive head suddenly shifts impossibly fast and crunches down on his arm shaking back and forth like a terrier with a rat. Kuublu cries out unintelligibly in fury. This thing better start yelping and eating carrion, don't test its luck on live food that fights back. |

Jaafan cried out as the beast bit in to his shoulder and tossed him back. He winced as he composed himself and shifted his hold on his spear. "You are a worthy opponent." he said to the female creature, grinning even as he felt the intense pain course through his flesh, "I will treasure your hide and tell stories of your ferocity to honor your spirit." He shifted his position and braced himself, ready to strike out when she next came at him. |
