Only to mention that the door to the room in which Simon, Emily, and Alistair are holed is closed (and bolted).

And I'm glad you provided that map - I had in my mind that the monk was the other side of the table and chairs to Simon. The monk's proximity this side of the room makes Simon much more nervous...

Yes, he's moved across while you were cutting the bonds. He doesn't seem to be paying that much attention to you - seems more focused on Emily.

So we have a situation where there is a battle going on downstairs (which can be heard upstairs) but upstairs is relatively speaking peaceful for the moment.

UPSTAIRS

The Nun looks rather stunned for a moment at Emily's torrent of questions. She is even more stunned when she feels Alistair's hand on her wrist. She doesn't resist as he turns the sword away, although she does not drop it. She speaks, the impression being she is answering questions in turn.

"Not too old, just older than I expected."

"You are untouched."

"We are touched. Touched by..."

The woman on the bed has finished untying her wrist. She is now free from restraint but still on the bed interjects "Elves or fairies or sprites... these people in blue were men and women like us before they were made servants of the fae. Made servants as children. Now, Honeysuckle, let's be sensible. Nobody here has to get hurt."

DOWNSTAIRS

The Lady Knight and the Monk in front of her exchange blows and both of them seem to hit each other. The other Monk - the one facing Osric - swings very clumsily at Osric, missing wildly.

Eggdras and Osric - assuming you are attacking, please give me your attack roll, and an armour bypass roll.

Usually prefer if the GM can roll for me. If you really don't want to, I'll get around to it assuming I don't get invited for drinks....

Nervously panting, Osric keeps raining down blows wildly onto his opponent, trying to force him back (Hawk Guard again, +1Attack; +1Armour)

And again: 1d20 4

http://orokos.com/roll/673350: 1d6 6

.... delivery a hefty thwack on his skull.

(Assuming that’s a hit and a bypass, 3 damage)

Unless any special change of circumstance, Osric will press his advantage and keep raining blows, Hawk Guard. Happy for GM to roll if speeds things up, but no problem rolling self.

Yeah, it would be great, at all times. Fumbling about or trying to open another website to do a roll... troublesome....

Has the nun reacted to this at all?

Emily sighed....everyone here was insane...well, not so different to the streets around her home then....she turned and started walking towards the balcony daring them to stop her.

Simon is relieved that, now free, the woman hasn't turned on him, nor does it feel to Simon that the sword is compelling his actions any more. Did he imagine it? Simon's panic begins to subside and he takes a breath to gather his thoughts, stepping back to feel the security of the wall behind him.

Quickly surveying the room, Simon notices that while he had been distracted by the act of freeing the woman from her bonds, he hadn't noticed the monk manoeuvre closer to the bed and the prone woman on the floor. Now worried he could get trapped in the corner of the room should events turn ugly, Simon slides along the wall until he can feel the door at his back (not the door in the south-east corner of the room that leads to the corridor, but the closed door in the middle of the south wall, between the two chairs, that has been closed for the duration of the encounter). At all times, Simon keeps his shortsword pointed outwards, interposing it between himself and the monk, hoping that, if it truly is enchanted, whatever witchery empowers the blade will be effective against fae-cursed changelings.

Highlighting from earlier post -

"She is even more stunned when she feels Alistair's hand on her wrist. She doesn't resist as he turns the sword away, although she does not drop it. She speaks, the impression being she is answering questions in turn."

Basically, no resistance to his touch or his turning it away, but she has not actually dropped the blade.
