Osric suffers a pang of guilt at not having followed straight after her, but puts it aside and charges straight at the right hand monk [assuming this leaves him with enough room to use his staff. If not he’ll take the left]

Attack: 14, (+1 bringing it down hard with another Hawk Guard)

Attacking the monk: 1d20 16

...smacking it into the wall.

Eggdras is riddled with indecision. He is not exactly a monarchist, preferring the freedoms of the city but there is no harm since overall life goes on as well as it can. He realizes that he is pretty much committed to helping the lady knight under the current circumstances though he would have preferred it to be more clear cut. He glances nervously behind as he decides how to engage. Is it possible that he might be able to step over Osric, since Osric has taken a dive?

Sorry, that was unclear. He’s not taken a dive. Still very much upright but smacked the wall instead of monk.

I’m guessing from the diagram there’s probably not room enough for three of us there though, especially if one is swinging a staff?.. could cover our backs though? Or help out the other guy at the door?

No problems, just asking. Eggdras will just stand around clutching his hardware.

Simon will saw at the ropes binding the woman's feet whilst she attempts to free her other hand.

Simon is unsure what is going on and which side is in the right, assuming either of them are, and listens intently to the unfolding dialogue in the other corner of the room.

Simon is a little frightened and very nervous - out of his depth in a situation he doesn't understand and over which he feels he has little control. His instinct (or the sword?) is driving him to help the woman who was being tortured on the bed, but his (figurative) guard is up - imagining that the woman, as soon as she is free, might leap from the bed and attack him.

Alistair puts his hand on the nun's wrist, and, keeping the dagger in her back, points the sword away from him and Emily and asks her to drop it again (it's making him very nervous).

[OOC - where's the other monk in the room standing right now?]

These maps give my current understandings of positions. If anybody wants to make changes, let me know. I will post more tomorrow.

Note - to Eggdras, there would be room next to the Lady Knight if you want to get into a combat situation. There's probably room next to Osric as well, but you can see he's using a staff so that might be more awkward.

Eggdras doesn't like it but he will join in on the girls side. Wielding his sword and frying pan, he proceeds to 'pacify' the monk.....

Only to mention that the door to the room in which Simon, Emily, and Alistair are holed is closed (and bolted).

And I'm glad you provided that map - I had in my mind that the monk was the other side of the table and chairs to Simon. The monk's proximity this side of the room makes Simon much more nervous...

Maybe a delay of a few days in me posting. I'm at a convention (which I knew about - what I didn't know until much more recently is that the train line I rely on to get to and from the convention is not operating this weekend meaning my travel time has basically trippled from a manageable three hours a day at most to what could actually be nine hours a day! If I hadn't made a commitment to somebody I would have pulled out).
