The rider looks at you and laughs.

"Wolfeye! Hah. I see that you have the pissing priest with you whose shallow ambitions caused the death of my little brother in darkness. Slaughtering you craven pots of odure will make a fine offering to our Lady below. Truth be told, it'll give me an appetite to reap those mealymouthed dunga over in Saxton

"As for Wolfeye, you'll find me a much more amenable chap."

He sticks his tongue out and waggles it at you. It's notable for being forked and overlong.

"Allow me to introduce myself. They call me Serpent-Tongue. Do you see why, dullards?"

"And I thought my face was ugly." Lucky mutters, lowering his spear to point at the fork-tongued man and his group.

How close to the action is Corvin concealed? Within 20m? ;-)

Calder, Corvin and Laila – you notice as you watch the dark-cloaked men that they are muddy. Not the mud that you'd get from mere travel upon the road, but more as if they'd been at work. Physical dirty work.

Corvin and Laila (aren't you two observant?) – rather like Corvin is doing on one side of the road, hiding away, it seems that someone (or someones) is doing the same on the other side...

Lucky, Godric, Jharak and Sten. You're not as alerted. Neither is Bretwald, who you see to be open-mouthed. Perhaps Serpent-Tongue has alarmed you all with his prodigious appendage.

Corvin loosens his grandfather’s shortsword in its scabbard, and peers across to try to get a better look at the other hidden observer.

"I grow tired of word games, little lizard. State clearly what your intentions are."

As Sten says this, he calmly walks towards the side of his horse.

Corvin – roll 2d10 under your Perception +5, with a further -3, as there's a party in the way...
