As you near the barking you see a small cropping of stone, surrounded by a pack of wild dogs, who are trying to get at something in a crevice.

The dogs see you and turn, starting toward you.

I've added you in initiative order.

Lucky
Calder
Laila
Godric
Bohemond
Sten

Godric is not used to fighting in a group and decides to stay at the back with Bretwald and not get in people's way.

He's also using a Bow and knows they work better at a distance.

Laila nocked an arrow to her bow and fired at the charging canines, but her arrow went wide, she dropped her bow and drew her seax knowing they'd be on them soon.

Bow shot ATT 13: 1d20 18

Seeing the pack of dogs coming towards his party, Calder advances screaming and uses his sword to attack the nearest dog while using his shield to defend himself. He is confident that his armor should protect him from the canines.

Bohemond says a quick prayer and signs himself. His eyes dart from left to right, to make sure no threats side step the warriors in the front. His sword is out ahead of him, as a deterrent.

Upon seeing the charging mass of snarling hounds, he lets fly his nocked arrow and quickly reaches for another, cursing as the arrow flies wide and praying the next will hit the mark.

Round 1.

Lucky reached the dogs first and tried to hit the nearest with his morning star. He missed.

Seeing the pack of dogs coming towards his party, Calder advanced screaming and used his sword to attack the nearest dog while using his shield to defend himself. He is confident that his armour would protect him from the canines. Calder hit the dog a mighty blow and sent it flying.

Laila nocked an arrow to her bow and fired at the charging canines, but her arrow went wide, she dropped her bow and drew her seax knowing they'd be on them soon.

Upon seeing the charging mass of snarling hounds, Godric let fly his nocked arrow and quickly reached for another, cursing as the arrow flew wide and praying the next would hit the mark.

Bohemond said a quick prayer and signed himself. His eyes darted from left to right, to make sure no threats sidestepped the warriors in the front. His sword was out ahead of him, as a deterrent.

Sten noted the difficult terrain and stopped his charge finding what he thought was some solid ground and hit the first dog that came within striking distance. The dog got hit. A good blow.

Bretwald stood his ground by Egg.

The dogs reach you, a snarling mass of mangy hounds, distracted from what they were seeking at the rocks. They growl and bite at you, spittle spraying. All of you are unscathed, apart from the unaptly named ‘Lucky’ who is savaged by one brute of a hound.

I’ll take perception rolls from each of you – and we’ll move to the second round of combat after that.

Calder - 3
Bohemond - 1
Godric -succeeds

Lucky - fails
Sten fails
Laila fails
