As Sten drags Lucky towards the farmhouse, his load slightly lessened by Calder's assistance, he tells you what he remembers of Mavis' farm..


The Widow Mavis has one of the larger farms in Igham. Her livestock are good quality and her crops produce better than average yields. Her sons are probably mostly grown now, perhaps some might be married with children themselves.

The farm house started small but has had several extensions.

Mavis sets a large table and is used to having extended family over for dinner. There is a balcony with a pair of rocking chairs, and a large bell attached to one of the supports, usually rung at mealtimes or to announce the arrival of visitors.

As you head through the village to the other side towards Mavis' farmhouse, you are caught up by Bohemond bustling towards you.

He has someone with him, a man of middling height, with pale sallow skin and dark eyes and hair.

He introduces himself to you as Corvin.

Towards the farmhouse, you hear a bell ring out.

”Hail and well met! My rotund friend Bohemond here tells me you are seeking ancient treasures and adventure that may make use of my knowledge of history and long dead languages. By the looks of your poor companion, Lucky is it, perhaps you’ve found some adventure already?”

Corvin pauses, surveying the group in a calculating wolffish manner. ”I would be most honoured if you would accept my sword and my learning into your merry band”. He concludes with a slight bow and flourish.

Laila paused, met Bohemunds eyes, then the newcomers eyes.

She clasped his shoulder, " I am Laila. And what is your name?"

" I've no objections myself, but I'm not the head of this ramshackle house."

"Ahem."

Bohemond looks down.

"As for me, my journey with you all ends here for now. Our short journey and my prayers have revealed to me that my place is here, to tend to this flock. Why, the chapel is nearly complete. With the grace of the Saviour, it will be completed before the winter comes.

"I am sure Master Rath will be a most useful replacement for me. To tell truth, I don't think that Lucky will be in a fit state to reach the Tomb in time either. I shall minister to his wounds as we while away the time."

Laila nodded to Bohemund, " Ya, good luck to you both."

" Elfin Earl? Montombre. I've done some trading in his lands before."

" This is likely a goose chase, but it alleviates the boredom."

Sten looks Corvin over reaches his hand out to shake.

"Well met Corvin. We are on our way to yonder farm to see if there is a chance of a warm meal and a roof for the night"

Turning to Lucky "Are you sure you want to stay here my friend? We can continue to Saxton and if you're not well by then my family will care for you."

”Let’s hope it’s a fat, slow and tasty goose then shall we?” Corvin replies, eyebrows raised in surprise.

OOC I was going to say laying golden eggs but I don’t think that cautionary fairy tale is extant in Legend in 995AS

”Shall we all retire somewhere to talk. I would hear more of your goose chasing plans and of what misfortune befell your poor comrade. Was it brigands? Does the Baron not control the roads and trails of his lands?”

"Wild dogs is what happened it was a strange set of events to be sure". Sten shakes his head still bewildered by it all "We have not been back in Albion for long arrived in Ongus just a few weeks ago. It is good to be home"
