“Good Calder, was there anything in the chest? Perhaps we should secure whatever’s booty it may contain before we proceed. Laila perhaps you could light the way for him?”

Assuming the companions will follow his bossy orders Corvin drops to his knees, motioning Bretwald closer with his lantern and examines the tale of the tapestry to try to discern what cautionary tale or historical event it may have depicted.

”Fascinating! I wonder what magic was used to create such a wondrous guardian”

OOC is the tapestry beyond repair? How big is it? Could we roll it up and carry it out with us?

“No I rush to help,” Calder says. He then runs to the chest and opens it.

Calder grabs the lid of the chest and pulls it open.

Only his reflexes save him from breathing in the cloud of green dust that shoots out of the chest.

As the dust settles on the floor, Calder is in the ante-chamber with the chest fully open.

Will he investigate within?

Calder wonders if he has been too hasty. He covers his face tightly with his face mask and probes into the chest with his sword.

Sten waits at the entrance of the antechamber "I will stand guard here lest I animate the chest and it tries to eat us"

Corvin looks at Sten dubiously.

“Well yes perhaps best if you don’t touch anything good Sir”

After his examination of the tapestry Corvin heads back into the room for another look at the floor and enquires “Find anything interesting?”

Calder peers intently into the chest (PM coming)

Corvin feels the tapestry is well beyond any repair.

Calder shouts loud enough for the companions to hear,”silver, bag. Come see!”
