You see that poor Lucky may well be right. His grip on the ledge seems precarious and is loosening before your very eyes... What will you do to save the poor soul? |

Max is quickish but he’s also furthest away. Could he toss his rope to Lucky fast enough so that the whole party can take hold to help their fellow? |

Twin ropes fly Lucky's way. True to his name, he grabs at one and holds steady. The other flies by him, just missing his ear. He hangs and as Calder drops to the floor, he extends a hand to him. Calder grabs Lucky's outstretched hand and pulls him forward away from the edge. The two men lie there panting. "I must tell ye, Master Calder" says Lucky, "I thought I were done for there. They say as yer life flashes afore yer eyes. I tell yer that be true." |

Annoyed at the fumbling attempt he’d made with the rope, Max was nonetheless pleased to see Lucky hauled back up over the edge of the drop. Coiling the rope back in, Max loops it back in and coils it over his shoulder. Moving down the corridor he edges closer to the drop to see if there’s anything of interest down there. His cross bow is ready should any nasty pit dwelling creature have been disturbed. |

Peering over the drop you see that it goes down and down and down. You see no end. The faint illumination of your lights shows that perhaps there is a ledge directly opposite, but at least a good thirty metres away. "I owe you me life." says the hapless Lucky. "I thought that I was going over. I thought I was a goner for sure." "Sten saved me afore. But you've done saved me now." He clasps Calder's hand. Looking around, he says "An' I won't ferget that you threw me them ropes, Mistress Laila and Master Max." |
