Sten was moving to do the same as Laila but just follows Her over to the chest
"Wonder if there is a smaller chest inside this one"

Corvin observes cautiously from over Sten’s shoulder…

Calder steps forward. He sees and says,”use key open lock take treasure.”

Laila fits the key in the lock and with an audible click, it goes in. As she turns the key, she hears bolts clicking back. The chest lid looks clear to open.

And, open she does!

The lid goes back and within she sees:

A quiver full of arrows,

A gold robe-clasp,

Two stoppered stone jars,

A parchment case,

A large silver sceptre

And an ivory crucifix.


What will you do?

”Wait!” Corvin shouts to his companions “don’t lay a hand on those items! Surely this is either some form of test or a trap? We must use logic and try to deduce what gift is most worthy! Let us not be hasty!” he addresses the last remark particularly at Laila

“Grab all at once?” Calder asks, his simple mind doesn’t comprehend tough thinking.

Laila grins and, stepping back, indicates that Corvin should inspect the contents.

Max explores the rest of the room as the others investigate the chest and it’s contents. He keeps his crossbow ready should there be any hostiles lurking in the furthest corners.
