I have just made Cadaver Draconis, an unofficial supplement for Dragon Warriors available for download at http://libraryofhiabuor.net/cadaverdraconis.html

What is it?

Well, it's a 93 page free PDF that largely consists of material that was originally written for the book that became the Dragon Warriors Players Guide. In a sense, it's a large part of the first draft of that guide written back when Magnum Opus had the licence. Under Serpent King, the guide took on a bit of a different direction, but this material was already (mostly) written and we think it is good enough to see the light of day, so some of us have made the effort to get it finished and to release it under the terms of the Serpent King fan policy. In addition, a small amount of new material has also been included.

So what will you find in Cadaver Draconis?

The bulk of the document is what we refer to as the Paths - not new professions but new options for existing professions. Different skills and skills of the mighty that can be overlaid over the existing professions. Over the last few weeks, I've been sharing some examples of these in the "Would You Like To Play This Character" thread. Well, this will give you the rules to do so.

Do you want to play a saltwater sailor, a nomad, a chieftain, or a slayer - and not just a generic Barbarian? Do you want to play a commander, a crusader, a questing knight, or a man-at-arms - and not just a generic Knight? Do you want to play a druid or a
necromancer - or just a generic Elementalist? Do you want to play a court wizard or a hedge-wizard - or just another Sorcerer? Do you want to play a wise woman, cunning man, or path-walker - or a generic Sorcerer? Do you want to play a Templar, or one of the devil-marked - instead of just being a Warlock? An Irregular, a longbow-man, a forester, a huntsman, or a hooded man - and not just any Hunter? A courtier, entertainer or trader - instead of just a Knave? An exorcist, a witch-hinter, an apostle or missionary, a cultist or a shaman - and not just an everyday Priest?

Do you want to play a river dweller, a mountaineer, a Tamorian Cataphract, a Zheniri Fāris, a Krarthian Legionnaire, a Sea-witch, a Völva or Seiðkona or Galdrmann, or a Selentine War Mage?

How about a titan-blooded hero, or a half-jinn, or one of the Krarthian Magi?

These paths are now open to you.

And that's not all.

There is a section on Barbarian skills for Barbarians from different regions. There are a couple of new secondary skills (Martial Combat and Endurance).

Then we have appendices - want NPC Weapons and Equipment Tables for the Assassin, Elementalist, and Warlock - not to mention the Demonologist, Hunter, Knave and Priest? We've got them. Want a new set of rules for finding and dealing with traps? That's there. Want a range of new weapons? A description of the types of clothing available to you that aren't made of leather and metal and intended to stop you being stabbed, rather than being comfortable or looking good at court? How about equipment tables that tell you what a lot more things cost and how hard they are to find for sale?

This is a free, fan-policy based supplement. But we've made every effort to produce work at a high standard. Take a look?

And please tell us what you think? And spread the word anywhere else you think Dragon Warriors players and GMs might be found.

Thanks Shaun, hope folks get some fun out of it. Even if they just pull out some of the Abilities to use as additional Skills of the Mighty and the like.

There is also a decent amount of info on various cultures and lands of Legend throughout the descriptions and In-Character quotes.

If folks feel like boosting it on a few rpg forums that would be awesome. Thanks!

Hey, now we have apocrypha! Great stuff. I'm going to have Lulu print out a copy, should fit right in with the rest of the DW library.

Have you thought about packaging it up as a free DriveThruRPG download?

In that way, you also get access to the email addresses of people that download it and market to them (something SKG should probably be doing to all the Players' Handbook downloaders...). I'm sure if you were clear that it's non-official and included the SKG fan policy in full inside the document, SKG couldn't complain about you doing that - it's not actually any different from hosting it on your site, but as least on DriveThruRPG, it can be tagged and searched.

Just a thought - it was something I considered when I put together the Hollow Men adventure PDF, but for me that would also have meant getting permission to use the artwork...
