Just some brainstorming. I figure those kaikhurans, khitans and selentium probably built a lot of underground structures. What about the 'true faith' worshippers around the time of the selentium? Book 4 mentions something about an ancient race that built the castle, underground complex and the staff that gives murkyn extra firepower.

I suppose those ancient inhabitants of ellesland built some fancy tombs.

Any other ideas about who else? What about elves and orcs? Dwarves, naturally, never know when the ground will collapse with those termites running around.

What about other races? And whilst I'm on this topic, who would build residences for monsters to inhabit? Maybe its not subterranean but surely some people build some properties and neglect them until the orcs colonize it. I think the first book 1 mentioned someone's castle infested with orcs. And why no body did anything about it?

How do you convince some of these colourful inhabitants to all stay in the same place and live in harmony feasting on adventurers only?

Most of the ancient complexes in Ellesland are Duatha, Fomorian or Selentine in origin.

I had a huge underground complex built by ancient Jotun under Skrymir in the northern islands between Ellesland and Mercania, the Mountain Kings certainly build vast underground places, as did Ancient Emphidor and other ancient civilisations not to mention the Magi in Krarth.

Not sure about orcs, they don't really exist in my Legend except as bestial fay.
