What about a Profession, where, instead of throwing fireballs and suchlike, actually manipulates the primordial forces that make up this world (ripping people apart, gravity, etc.). This would be augmented by combat abilities as it would be less powerful at lower Ranks (perhaps using gravity to augment a sword blow, +1 DAMAGE?). However, this would go both ways and would be dangerous, as the incredibly powerful forces would rip the wielder apart (or something suitably bad) if they lost concentration even for an instant.

Fun NPC Profession, even if not very playable?

Sure, though I would prefer some historical basis and I can't think of anything. I saw a documentary about Samurai magic use, the use of charms and the placing of fans. But a pure phycisist profes physisist, physicist, kinetics specialist would be a departure from anything I can think of

Less of an expert in these forces (Physicist), but someone who can direct them through sheer force of will. Maybe make it a Profession path for Rank 6+ Mystics?

I'll do a little work: secondary stats, work out what the magic will actually be, ect.

Before writing down the numbers, is it worth thinking about this profession's role in Legend? It's origin, it's heritage, how and why it exists, and how it survives in Legend, etc.?

Are we just talking about variant spells for the existing mystic profession or are we talking about a whole new profession? And does this even fit the mystic profession or is it more "elemental" (which, for the pseudo-Dark Age period in which DW is primarily set, would be their interpretation of "primordial")? A "gravity elementalist" is an interesting concept, I suppose, but I'd be interested to know what they would call themselves.

I'm thinking magic like Bend Sword, Crush Rock and maybe a more powerful version of Burden.

Maybe one of those niche mystics, seperate from the existing Mystic class. I think there is a term for it, psychokinesis, telekinesis, jedi 'alter', another means of manipulating the cosmic flux and altering reality. Maybe the wiki on telekinesis might have some historical information...

That's Uri Geller. I'm sure he can devastate enemies by bending their cutlery before their eyes.
