Once again I will be co-writing and running a Dragon Warriors game at Melbourne's easter gaming convention - the next installment in the Springdale Chronicles.

The Kestrel is a Knave
by Shaun Hately and Rhain Bedwyr

Spying is part of politics. Intrigue is an absolutely necessary part of statecraft. But you’re not really certain exactly when politics and statecraft became part of your life. It was much easier where all you had to do was kill the monsters and take their treasure.

LIFE AND DEATH ARE ONLY A DICE ROLL AWAY!

A single session Dragon Warriors scenario by Shaun Hately and Rhain Bedwyr.

Shaun Hately is co-author of the official Dragon Warriors supplement Friends or Foes and the Dragon Warriors Players Guide from Serpent King Games.

If you want to play it is a good idea to preregister. It takes me anywhere up to two hours to travel into the Convention on a bad day and there was an issue at Arcanacon where somebody came in at 9am on Saturday morning to play the game, and I wasn't there because without any players preregistered for the entire day, I wasn't travelling in and out just in case people turned up. Barring accident, I will be there if I know I have players. If I don't, I'm only likely to be there if I am playing something that day.

Just a reminder - The Kestrel is a Knave, my latest DW scenario is running at Conquest here in Melbourne with four sessions on Saturday and two on Sunday afternoon. There are still places for players, although I've got a lot more players reregistered than normal sparing me my normal dread of nobody turning up to play.

Shaun, I hope your games went well at Conquest. Unfortunately this Easter weekend was a family trip away for me so I couldn't join in at Conquest. I'm hoping to be able to make the next con.

Game was awesome. I was a little late in turning up but everyone seemed to enjoy it even the one whose character got explodified. Also I got married.......well my PC got married....it was fun.

Explodification and marriages! Wow, what I missed!

When are you running another scenario at a con Damian?

I've missed two so far this year....for the first time in a few years. I'm hoping to have something ranked up for Unicon.

I am planning on running a game at Unicon - which if Damien does as well, would mean two DW games there.

The scenario we used at Conquest (which I cowrote with Rhain Bedwyr who still hasn't joined this forum!) will go up on my website as soon as possible after the Players Guide is released. Because I made slight use of some material from the Players Guide, I won't put it up until then.

Shaun.

Well, now I have joined and I have to say that I suffered from "player envy" at the convention. Shaun managed to run 2 teams of 6 and 7 players each, whereas I only had 2 sessions with 3 players in each. Whilst our Saturday sessions went well (and were fun), Sunday was a complete washout with only 1 or 2 players wanting to play.

Look out UniCon. Shaun and I will be back ...
