So i've been missing my daily digest from the Yahoo group. Previously I didn't have to log in to keep up to date with what was happening. I've just 'subscibed' to all the forum topics, hopefully that will keep me informed! (Without generating too much spam...)

Agreed. Mailing Lists might be considered old or dated but for a low traffic item such as dragon warriors it was nice to just get all the updates without having to go and log in to web site every day or so to see if there has been an update and still have anything you may want to say in response still be relevant. I fear the low traffic will result in people forgetting about this site and it dying due to inactivity.

Yeah, that is what i'm worried about.

So now i'm subscribed to all the separate forums, I get an email each time there is a new message. That's not great either. Are there any add-ons that might generated the daily digest?

I personally prefer email lists myself, but there's plenty of evidence that they are a dead medium as far as most of people on the net are concerned.

I used to literally get hundreds of emails a day from the many lists I was on (and I was involved in running quite a few). Now I don't even get twenty most days.

And yahoogroups, and its interactions with other services, is getting worse and worse from the perspective of somebody trying to run a list. There are so many addresses being bounced because their ISPs will no longer accept yahoogroups emails.

I can't guarantee this forum will work better. But at this point, I honestly doubt it could be lower traffic than Dragwars was.

I will take a look to see if there's any way of generating some sort of digest like email for the group - and if there is, and I can implement it I will.

I have identified what looks a way to create an emailed daily digest for people. But this is a more complicated use of this particular type of software than I have done in fifteen years, so please bear with me if it takes a little while to set up. On the other hand, if it all goes smoothly, it may be working later today - it's not a big job, just a fiddly one.

It may require the board to be taken offline for a short period (less than an hour).
