Dragon Warriors

A Dice Roll Away is an (in progress) fanfiction novel aimed primarily at gifted children and young adults that I have been working on for over a year now. It is set in the Lands of Legend - specifically in Ongus, the capital of Albion, and concerns the childhood of one of my old Dragon Warriors characters - when he was part of my games, his background was only basically described - a boy who grew up on the streets of Ongus and gradually discovered his heritage and a path to power.

I teach gifted children and this work is primarily aimed at that type of audience, so the character, though a child, is an extremely bright one.

I share the draft of the novel (as I work on it) at http://drednort.deviantart.com/ and some people might be interested in following on. But I stress this is a draft of a work in progress. It's currently 54 chapters long and is very much a labour of love. Obviously, for reasons of copyright over the original Dragon Warriors related material, this isn't something I am aiming towards being published. It's a work of fanfiction under the terms of the Serpent King Games fan policy.

I am using it to formulate and expand on some of the ideas that are involved in my person version of Legend (theory of magic, history, etc) but it's mostly just for fun.

The cover image I'm sharing here was created for me by Lindsay C. Walker, a well known and regarded comic book artist who I am lucky enough to have playing in one of my campaigns. I really like it.

That looks excellent. I've started reading (and added "scumgullion" to the words I shall use in future games) and will continue when time allows. Good work.

I'm interested to read on and see how you portray Ongus.
(I notice you use "Algand" meaning someone from Algandy - something else I may use in future.)
