Laila slams the doors open. Past them lies a three metre wide corridor leading west. Some fifteen metres past the doors, you can see that the corridor is joined by another to the north. The corridor ahead of you, heading west, is gloomy, illuminated only by your sources of light. But, you can tell that bright light floods down from the northern branch. |

You companions sneak forward. Lucky looks behind and puts his finger up, indicating hush. As you near the T-junction, in the bright bar of light thrown across the corridor from the northern branch, you now notice a looming shadow. Someone is waiting just around the next corner. You pause and hold your breath as you study the outline of the shadow. Could it be a robed woman with an elaborate coiffure? A soft, evil hissing reaches your ears... |

A woman steps out from the northerly corridor. Though she has the body of a young attractive woman, her face snarls and is that of a hideous crone. More alarmingly is her hair, or rather what passes for hair. Snakes writhe around her head, coiling and sliding. Green venom drips from their fangs. She locks eyes with Bedwere, and you see him stiffen before you. |

Hearing the noise and seeing the shadow Max turns his entire attention forward, aiming his cross bow down the corridor toward where the interloper would appear. |
