Throughout his travels, he’d never encountered death brought down on those he was starting to consumer friends so quickly, and by something so horrific. Bowing his head, he mutters, ‘may the Gods have mercy on their souls.’ Quietly he finishes re-loading the crossbow before standing once more. |

"If I should die, think kindly of me.." gasps Lucky as he stiffens. "If you'd but met me a few years earlier, Mistress Lai..." and with that, he finally stiffens, falling into stoneclad eternity, his hood falling, leaving his stone face clear to the air. Bretwald and Drystan look on, both agog and shocked by the fall of their fellows. Perhaps it has been driven home to them that amongst the search for gold, glory and knowledge, sometime death comes a'calling. Silence falls.... But is soon interrupted by a tap-tap-tapping. It sounds as if it comes from poor Lucky's chest. |
