Gathering the treasures from Vallandar's hall, the party make their preparations to leave.

Perhaps today had been a test, or maybe not. Certainly Bretwald had come to believe that the work they had done today was righteous.

Lucky in tow, they made their way back through the underworld, pausing at the dust of Bedwere, maybe to hasten his soul onwards to its just rewards.

Without further incident, the bold adventurers retrace their steps, finding the purple lights that so worried them what seemed so long ago had now dissipated.

Moving on past seemingly endless rooms, finally they reach the door that they first entered Vallandar's domain through, and blinking at the sunlight, find themselves in a crisp autumn morn.

" So, back to town? We don't want to overstay our welcome especially with Bretwald here destroying gifts given to him by the good folk in order to sneak back in."

“Yes yes. We should not tarry here. The woodland spirits may not take kindly to us overstaying our welcome.”

Turning to Father Bretwald Corvin continues “Well good Father. We have fulfilled your quest. Where to now? Should we present the treasures of Vallandr to the good Baron?”

Closing his eyes, Max inhales and exhales, filling his lungs with the crisp autumnal air which came as a pleasant change to the mustiness of Vallander’s tomb.

Opening his eyes he addresses Corvin, ‘the horse loaned to me by your kin was left at the stable in Saxton. I at least need to travel there in order that I might return the animal’.

Laila looked at Sten, " He's growing....slowly....but I swear he's bigger now than he was. Might be he'll be back to normal soon."

" I need to go check on the two kids and try and convince Roger to let the girl go back to her folk....or at least live somewhere better than that burrow."

" And if anyone can thing of a way to fill in that sinkhole to hell that'd be great."

We go help children

Calder's words caused Max to glance in the other man’s direction. He was no noble warrior but he hated the idea of innocents. Particularly children, suffering.

At first he thought that Laila’s comment on Roger and the two kids had been reference to something her own family was dealing with but now he wasn’t so sure.

To the party as a whole, he asks, ‘What children?’

“To Saxton then. I must then journey south into Montombre’s lands to see my ailing Mother.”
