Bretwald pauses.

"Well, it seems like a lifetime ago, but mayhap just a week has passed. It was when we were nigh close to Igham on our journey to this place. We found a small child, Egg, hid in the bushes off the thoroughfare. She told us that she and her friend had been chased by wild dogs. We ran to where she had last seem her friend, to hear the dreadful clamour of barking. We investigated and found the dogs had something at bay, trapped within some rocks. The hounds soon fell to our might and we rescued that which hid in the rocks."

"It was Roger. I cannot say what he was or is. I'm still not sure to this day. We left the pair together and went on our way. We later found that the child was one of the village folk of Igham. We are sworn to return her to her family."

"Now, I come to think of it. Roger looked a little like our small friend there."

The priest points at Lucky.

"And, of course, the matter of that accursed hole that Wolfeye's brother had."

”Why yes Father. I was most curious to explore the hole but sadly our companions were less curious!”

Curious that one of the children may have looked a little like Lucky, who wasn’t really a child at all, Max says, ‘since I’m going in that direction, I’ll happily help you discharge your promise to deliver them home.’

" Gonna need a lot of spadework to fill that..."

"Aye. And not even knowing why they were digging, at that." says Fr. Bretwald.

“Yes a most curious mystery to unravel!”

"Then, let us leave this place at once. It would be most ill met to see an elf-lord more than once in my life. I have no desire to repeat that experience."

Gathering together, you prepare to make your return to the village of Saxton -- one extra in your party, one lost, and one changed.

Setting out, as you leave, Calder makes one last look behind. To his great surprise, the tomb entrance can no longer be seen. The forest seems to have closed around. Perhaps you will never see Vallandr's Tomb again.

As we walk Sten muses over the options they have before starting to talk aloud to anyone who wants to listen.
"Corvin must return home to see his ailing mother, but perhaps we can head to Igham to get Egg home then travel towards the little village of Pillaton. Further down the river there should be a crossing and a trail that leads through Jewelspider wood to Montombres fief, we could accompany Corvin if he would like us to" ?

“Tomb disappear! Look,” Calder says, turning and pointing at the direction of the tomb.
