With the fall of the foul Morgrin, you find yourselves in the large hall that you had but a scant chance to observe before combat was met.

In the centre of the chamber, within a pillar of green light that streams down out of the darkness, waits a tall man on horseback. Both horse and rider wear great plates of decorated armour. Their
heads are bowed as though in slumber, and on the man’s brow you see a golden crown.

Around Vallandar, now nine mighty swords stand balanced upon their points in a perfect circle, three spaces where swords once stood are now filled with the shadows of those who took them to atttack Morgrin.

Near the foot of the steps sits a massive gold casket, its surface lit by the shining green light and that you brought with you.

Fr. Bretwald reaches the bottom of the steps and looks up at the horse and rider. "Great Vallandr. The once and future king."

“This is a puissant magic! What mighty magic has been wrought to place the ancient king here as real as you and me despite the passage of centuries?” Corvin gasps.

“If only Cyne…Errr my master could see this wondrous sight!”

Corvin reverently approaches the chest. His eyes now alight with both avarice and awe.

“What bounty awaits us there?” he says pointing to the chest.

Sten looks at the sword of serpent tongue tosses it aside and walks over to the swords standing around the King looks carefully at each one til he finds one he likes picking up the sword he looks around for a scabbard. He then approaches the King on horse back not daring to touch him but walks around inspecting him does it appear alive real or a statue ?

Taking a few deep breaths to centre himself after they’re battle with the apparition, Max nods to Laila to acknowledge the focus she’d help him find.

Calmer now, Max joins Sten at the statue of the horseman and also circles it. He looks up to see if he can make out the source of the light.

Corvin surreptitiously moves to reclaim the sword of serpent tongue and sticks it through his belt.

He then reverently approaches the chest.

“The riches of the kingdom surely?!”

In his hunt for a scabbard, Sten finds none. In his perusal of the king, if this is a statue, then surely the artistry and craftmanship defies belief.

Max peers up to see if he can find the source of the light. He stares and peers, but the brightness would mar his sight if he looked overlong.

Fr. Bretwald nods in assent with Corvin. "Yes, without a doubt, the treasure we seek will lie within."

Turning his eyes aside from the light before he is blinded, Max, decides that there’s little more to see at Vallander’s statue, and he instead joins Bretwald and Corvin.

Indicating the chest, Max says, ‘Father, perhaps the honour should be yours.’

Laila sits down on the steps, it has certainly been a day to remember.

She looked over at the sleeping king and nodded as she inspected her ghost killing blade, she did not linger on her shadow...it disquieted her somewhat.

" Ja, open it up. Unless you think Himself will object."

Father Bretwald lifts the heavy lid of the casket, as you gather round, expecting to find wealth that transcends greed. Is this the unimaginable wealth of the realm spoken of in legend?

He brings forth the treasure and lays it out on the ground.

A silver crown, a handful of grain, a simple ploughshare, a wooden cross and a leatherbound book.

Bretwald chokes back a sob as he falls to his knees.

The treasures of Vallandar’s realm!” He groans. “The King, the Land, the People, the Faith and the Law....

He weeps.
