Hi All

I've finally created an account to join the Dragon Warriors community!!

I got involved with Dragon Warriors after finding the books in the mid 1980's. I really enjoyed the pseudo-medieval environment it created as well as the simplicity of the game mechanics!
It's great that there has been a revision and reprint of the Dragon Warriors material.

Currently residing in the North Island of New Zealand or should I be saying Middle-earth??!! :)

Looking forward to meeting with you all online.

Regards

Hi All

I have finally got around to setting up an account!

It's great to see that the Dragon Warriors community is still going!

Since the mid-1980's I've enjoyed the Dragon Warriors books and it's pseudo-medieval low fantasy environment!

Good to see you! Did you get all 6 books?

Hey Kharille!

Great to hear from you! I remember you from the old Dragwars forum. I always enjoyed your humorous discussions...!
I followed many years ago a pbem game which you, Thorsten and co were adventuring - I had a number of laughs and couldn't wait for the next episode!! :D

I've still got the original 6 books but the passage of time has not been kind to them!

I have got the new DW rulebook as a pdf and am considering purchasing the Players' Guide. Do you recommend the Players' Guide? I have not found many reviews of it.

Cheers

Cormac

Not sure, I just read the pictures. At one point I bought Dave Morris's book on video game design. Got a whole lot of em.

I recommend the Players Guide but as a contributor I'm a little biased. ;)

If your interested in PbP/PbEM we've got a few games going on this site and rpol. :)

I'd strongly recommend getting the Players' Guide as there's a lot of interesting and useful stuff inside - some stuff I wouldn't use, like guards, but enough solid additional content to make it a worthwhile purchase. Previous releases have largely just been reprints of the original material and this is the first (probably last...) publication that materially extends the DW game.

Gah, boss was walking by so my last reply was short. Yeah, we had some good fun times. Its unfortunate when you laugh at your own jokes, but hey... Playing the Assassin in Nims game was totally me...

Yeah, theres several games out there, quite active. Course I'm more well behaved now than in some of Nims games. I remember one guy walked out because of the excessive benny hill humour.

Barely got the time to read them, somehow I picked up pendragon and only started to read it maybe 2 years later. Someone asked me to run a dragwars oriental adventures but it sounds like too much work, I like to micromanage combat and thats too much dice rolling on my part.

I think shields was one topic that got the most replies. Really love it when the players get emotionally involved, fired up and combative.

Hello, my name is James Healey and I first started playing Dragon Warriors in 87 (I got them in 85 but didn't have a group).

It was the game that opened up my eyes to Roleplay and I haven't looked back since.

I now own too many games.

Good to have ya' with us. Same experience on this side. Too much fluff to read, and for me too many video games.
